Imprisoned for carrying Bibles (Nepal)

Three Christians from the Pyuthan District of Nepal have been imprisoned since February when they were arrested for carrying Bibles and Christian literature. While this is not against the law in Nepal, authorities presumed the literature was being used to convert others to Christianity, and charged them with proselytising. The men could face three to six years in prison.

Leaders from the Nepal Gospel Outreach Centre have made continuous appeals on behalf of their brothers - including a letter to the King whose secretary promised to intervene. Yet freedom has not come for the men, and any court decision continues
to be delayed.
